~ Flenley ~ Add a web counterHow to add a web counter to your spaceA web counter is a public way of showing the world how many people have visited your space. There are a number of free web counters available, but I'm going to show you how to use one from:
To add the counter to your space, do the following:
Important: Before you continue, please be aware that these free counters come with an advertising link. The information provided on the Amazing Counters page, when you reach Step 3, asks you not to remove that advertising link. However, it does state that you can choose what you're advertising. It's up to you what you wish to do.
At this point you can choose to add your counter to your Space in one of two ways.
Method 1 - Adding a counter to blog entries
Note: When you press the <HTML> button you are enabling advanced blog editing features, you will notice that the contents of the blog editing space change. Text will often be encapsulated in what are known as HTML tags e.g. <P>your text</P>. Don't let this worry you, you're almost done.
Method 2 - Adding a counter to your main page
To add a counter to your main page you need to make use of the Custom HTML PowerToy, you can add that PowerToy to your Space by using these instructions.
Once the Custom HTML PowerToy has been added to your Space, you can add a counter to your main page using the following steps:

Add the sandbox powertoyPOWERTOY SandboxCustom HTML PowerToy
This Custom HTML Power Toy is designed to allow you to add a sandbox module to your Space in which you can enter text, link to images, and use other HTML features.
The Custom HTML Power Toy supports all of the same HTML that you can enter into a Blog entry and can be moved around your Space as a separate module, just like a list or any other Spaces module.
Additionally you can control the Title of this module and whether the borders for this module are displayed or not.
HOW TO ADD IT:
Click edit your space.
When in edit mode look at the address in the bar above it should be something like
http://spaces.msn.com/members/yourspacename/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1&_c=
Add the following text onto the end of the adress: &powertoy=sandbox
so you should have http://spaces.msn.com/members/yourspacename/PersonalSpace.aspx?_c02_owner=1&_c=&powertoy=sandbox
Now click go.
When the page has reloaded go to the modules menu and then customize tab.
Scroll down to find
PowerToy: Custom HTML
Click add.
Then click save.
